The Fishing Association Limited is a not for profit organisation. Our aim is to hold these competitions to raise funds to go toward the realisation of freshwater fishing competitions and their prizes. 

Our competitions are skill based and there is a fee to enter. When entering the competition you will be asked a question, if your answer is correct your name will be entered in to the prize draw and if you win you will be notified by email. Entrants must be 18 years old or over.

Below we detail our rules which govern your entry to our competition. 

Our Prize competition rules


1. Introduction

1.1 These rules apply to all competitions that are promoted on and run through our website.

1.2 To enter a competition you must complete and submit the competition entry form on our website.

1.3 The applicable costs for entering a competition are set out on our website, along with details of alternative free entry routes.

2. Eligibility and entry restrictions

2.1 To be eligible to enter a competition:

(a) you must be a natural person, at least 18 years old, permanently resident in the United Kingdom, and a registered user of our website; and

(b) you must not be our employee, officer or agent, or an employee, officer or agent of any person or organisation involved in the running of the competition, and you must not be a family relation of any such person.

2.2 The maximum number of entries to a competition per person is 1. We can make this any number let me know no minimum

2.3 The maximum number of entries for a competition shall be as specified on our website. Once this number of entries have been received, the competition will be closed to new entries, notwithstanding the published closing date.

2.4 Entrants will be required to answer a question using their skill and knowledge, if the question is answered correctly their entry will be placed in the prize draw. Incorrect answers will not go forward to the prizes draw phase. All entries are final and no refunds will be given.

2.5 You can enter our competition for free by posting your entry to the address detailed in Clause 10. The entry must:

Be on a post card and only contain one entry and must have the correct answer to the competition question to be eligible for the prize draw;

Contain your full name, date of birth, postal address, email address, and a contact number;

Any spoiled entries will be void and all entries must be received before the closing date.


3. Start and closing dates

3.1 A competition shall open for entries at the time and on the date specified on our website, and similarly shall close to entries at the time and on the date specified on our website. Unless otherwise stated on the website, these times and dates are the relevant times and dates in London, England ( GMT ) .

4. Judging

4.1 All entries with the correct answer will put forward to the prize draw and the winner will be chosen at random by an independent third party software.

4.2 Competition entries shall be judged on the basis of the criteria specified on our website in relation to the competition.

4.3 If a competition entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements or is subject to any entry restrictions, that entrant shall not be entitled to be adjudged a winner, and will not be entitled to a prize in any circumstances.

4.4 The Company’s decision is final.

5. Winners and prizes

5.1 Competition prizes shall be specified on our website.

5.2 Competition prize winners will be notified of the competition result by email and post not more than 30 days following the closing date of the competition, and will receive their prizes not more than 60 days following that closing date.

5.3 The results of a competition will be announced on our website within 30 days following the closing date of the competition. The announcement will include the first name, surname, age, town or region of residence and prize details of each prize winner. All entrants expressly gives their permission for these details to be announced as a part of their entry.

5.4 At the judges’ discretion an alternative prize of equivalent value may be substituted for any prize. 

5.5 The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 for any goods and services ordered online to be supplied within 30 days will not apply to any prize competition taking place on this Web Site.

5.6 The winner must provide proof of indemnity and shall be responsible for the collection of the prize. 

5.7 There is no implied value to the prize or any alternative offered.

6. Copyright and moral rights

6.1 You warrant to us that you created your competition entries, that you own all of the copyright in those entries, and that our use of the entries in accordance with these rules will not infringe any person’s intellectual property rights or other legal rights.

6.2 You grant to us an exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable licence to copy, store, edit, distribute, transmit and publish your competition entries. You also grant to us a right to sub-license these rights.

6.3 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you irrevocable and unconditionally waive your rights to be identified as the author of your competition entries and to object to any derogatory treatment of your competition entries.

7. What happens to entries?

7.1 Competition entries will not be returned. Please, therefore, keep a copy of your competition entries. 

8. Publicity and Privacy

8.1 We may undertake publicity activities relating to competitions and prize awards. We may publish and/or arrange for the publication of prize winners’ first names, surnames, ages, towns or regions of residence and prize details. We may provide that information to sponsors or other interested parties for the purpose of publicity for the sponsors or our fishing competitions. We may also require prize winners to attend promotional events relating to the competition, providing that we will pay reasonable and pre-agreed travel, subsistence and accommodation expenses incurred by prize winners attending such events.

8.2 Any entrant gives their express consent, upon entering any competition, for the Company to enter their personal details into the Company Data Base and to use the information received in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1988 and subject to the terms of our Privacy Policy.

9. General 

9.1 The Company reserves the right to cancel, postpone or close before the end date any Competition. If the Competition is cancelled, the Company will return any Entry Fees  (by the same method the entry fee was paid) and the Company shall have no further liability to any entrant.

9.2 Save for death or personal injury the Company or any officers, employees, affiliates or associated persons shall not be liable for any loss (including economic loss, loss of profit and the like) suffered to or sustained by any person as a result of any act or omission of the Company.

9.3 The Company does not accept any liability for errors or omissions contained in the Prize competition details, description or specification or any other part of the Website. It is the responsibility of each Entrant (and in particular the Winner) to satisfy him/herself as to the accuracy of any such details and/or any content of this website.

9.4 Any incomplete or spoiled entries received, whether by post or via an online entry, the Company will not be liable for any loss suffered by an Entrant. This includes any computer or internet failure or malfunction or any other such reason for non receipt of any entry. 

9.5 These competition rules, or any entry, shall not create or be construed as creating any form of contract, joint venture, partnership or other agreement between the company and any entrant.

9.6 The Company at its sole discretion shall declare void any entry which in it’s opinion may have been made fraudulently; by fraudulent misrepresentation; or many other manner which the Company may feel is inconsistent with the rules of the competition. The Company reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be immediately published on the competition home page, under ‘Terms and Conditions’.

9.7 The Company reserves the absolute right to change the terms of these competition rules, any such changes will be posted on the website and it is any entrants responsibility to read the rules which apply to a competition at the time of entry. In entering our competitions any entrant agrees that they have read, understood, agreed to and accept these terms absolutely.
